The Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza helped spur a revitalization of the Wilkes-Barre area, as evidenced by all of the development around the site. With the popular Penguins plauing and many other shows throughout the year, there is rarely a week without an event from September to May. It's a fairly typical arena inside, with inflated food and beverage prices and hard plastic seats. Outside, only part of the parking lot is paved, however they are continuing to pave sections every few years. The unpaved portions can get muddy in the rain or snow. Traffic flow in and out of the lot has its issues, but is not nearly as congested as larger event venues.
