Kirby Park is located just across the Market Street Bridge from downtown Wilkes-Barre. The park features tennis courts, football, soccer, baseball and softball fields, a playground, pavilion and plenty of grassy areas for picnics. Visitors can also access the levy trail system. Special events, including the city's annual Fourth of July celebration, are held at the park.

Like much of downtown Wilkes-Barre, Kirby Park is receiving needed work to restore this beautiful park to its peak. During warmer months, the park is a great place to spend some time relaxing or playing sports. During the winter, the levy proves a popular spot for sledding and snow tubing. Although on the opposite side of the Market Street Bridge from the rest of the city, the park is owned and maintained by Wilkes-Barre.
